‘Motor City Madman’ Ted Nugent Reveals COVID-19 Infection: ‘I Thought I Was Dying’

The Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, said he has been infected with COVID-19.

The “Cat Scratch Fever” singer revealed that he tested positive for coronavirus on Monday during a Facebook Live broadcast.

“You probably can’t tell because of my positive spirit, and my positive attitude plows through all of the negative,” Nugent said, talking to the camera. “I have had flu symptoms for the last ten days. I thought I was dying.”

According to the Associated Press, the video was shot at his Michigan ranch. The outlet accused Nugent of repeatedly using “racist slurs to refer to COVID-19.”

“During cluster f*ck pandemic, Chinese virus attack ‘21, I tested positive today,” he continued. “I got the Chinese sh*t.”

Nugent, 72, said his symptoms included “a stuffed-up head” and “body aches” that affected him to the point that he “literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days.” He said he had not received a COVID-19 vaccination and questioned whether the rollouts had been rushed. Earlier this month, the rocker told fans he wasn’t afraid of the virus. Nugent had previously said his 2021 tour had been canceled due to the pandemic.

In a second Facebook broadcast that followed, Nugent reportedly said, “I’ve never been so sick in all of my life.”

The Detroit News reported:

A Michigan native who now primarily lives in Texas, Nugent has been a vocal hunting rights activist and an outspoken supporter of Republican politicians.

In a Christmas Facebook message, the rocker downplayed the virus and criticized measures taken by state and federal governments, and those around the world, to slow its spread. “It’s not a real pandemic,” he says, and vows not to take any vaccine.

Nugent campaigned in Michigan last fall for Donald Trump’s re-election, criticizing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in the September appearance in Jackson County.

The rocker also took the opportunity to give “a big salute” to MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell “as the enemies of America attack and try to destroy the lives of entrepreneurs and businesses who stand up for God, family, and country.”

According to CNBC, Lindell’s company recently “filed a $1.6 billion countersuit against Dominion Voting Systems, which is currently suing Lindell and his business for defamation.” Dominion alleges Lindell spread a false accusation that the company rigged the 2020 presidential election for President Joe Biden.

While former President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he did not lose the 2020 presidential election, his legal team failed to substantiate claims of widespread voter fraud and irregularities. Congress certified Biden as the winner of the presidential election on January 6, following an anti-certification riot at the Capitol building.

“We need to counterpunch the haters and the Marxists cancel culture punks by supporting the people that they hate, by supporting the people that they’re trying to destroy,” Nugent added.

Nugent concluded the broadcast by saying, “Right now, I’m going to shut this off, and I’m going to pee off my deck.”
