Motorcycle Rider Killed in Collision on Costa Mesa 55 Freeway
A tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of Aug. 12 on the Costa Mesa 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa, resulting in the death of a motorcycle rider.
The collision took place at 2:19 p.m. on the northbound Costa Mesa Freeway under the HOV Flyover to the San Diego 405 Freeway, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. A sedan and a motorcycle were involved in the accident.
According to a witness, the rider was splitting lanes at the time of the crash, maneuvering between two lanes of vehicles in the same direction. This dangerous practice likely contributed to the collision.
