MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin will reportedly take over Hasan’s Sunday program time ⁢slot, as he is looking to expand his role in the media company.

Hasan will lose his weekend show and his show on Peacock’s streaming service, however, he will⁢ stay at the network as a “fill-in host” ‍and “on-camera analyst.” Hasan joined MSNBC in 2020 ⁣after working at Al Jazeera and the left-leaning⁣ outlet The Intercept.

The canceled host ‌has also been known for his outlandish remarks in the past.

In 2009, he boldly compared non-Muslims to “animals”‌ and insinuated that homosexuals were “pedophiles”and “sexual deviants.” However, in ‍2019, he eventually apologized for his past comments, saying that it was ⁤“dumb‌ offensive ranty stuff”‍ and admitted that he had said “extreme-sounding things.”

Recently, Hasan has also been one of the most⁤ vocal critics of ‍Israel and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) while the ⁢ongoing war between Israel and Hamas continues.

In an internal memo sent out by MSNBC president Rashida Jones, she maintained that this will be a positive move for the network.

“As we emerge‍ from a multitude of historic events these ⁢past months, we have an‌ opportunity to build on our accomplishments and keep the momentum going into 2024 and ⁢beyond,” Jones wrote.

“Hasan ‌will remain at ‌the network, bringing his‍ much-needed insight and expertise to MSNBC viewers as a Political Analyst⁣ and fill-in host,”⁢ Jones added.
