MTG Calls Out McConnell After Health Scare, Says He Is No Longer Fit for Office: ‘Family Should Be Ashamed’
Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has faced increasing calls to step down after freezing up in public for the second time in as many months. Among those criticizing McConnell is Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who went as far as to compare him to Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, who relies on close captioning to understand conversations.
During a press conference in Covington, Kentucky, McConnell was asked if he planned to run for re-election in 2026. Instead of answering, the 81-year-old senator remained silent and appeared confused for 19 seconds before being escorted away by his staff.

According to ABC News, McConnell’s episode was attributed to feeling lightheaded, and those close to him assured that he was fine afterward. President Joe Biden expressed concern for McConnell’s well-being and stated that he would reach out to him.
President Biden reacts to Mitch McConnell’s second freeze of the summer:
“Mitch is a friend, as you know. Not a joke. I know people don’t believe that’s the case … I’m going to try and get in touch with him later this afternoon. I don’t know enough.” pic.twitter.com/Lpr7i1jgqB

This is not the first time McConnell has experienced such an incident. In July, he froze up during a media address and had to be escorted away. Greene took the opportunity to criticize McConnell’s health and called for a serious examination of aging and mental health issues among political leaders.
Severe aging health issues and/or mental health incompetence in our nation’s leaders MUST be addressed.
Biden, McConnell, Feinstein, and Fetterman are examples of people who are not fit for office and it’s time to be serious about it.

Greene further emphasized the need for accountability, stating that the staff and family members of these politicians should be ashamed for enabling them to remain in office despite their health issues. She called for measures such as the 25th amendment to be considered.

These politician’s staff and family members should be ashamed of themselves by enabling and allowing their loved ones to remain in office all to hold power.
We are talking about our country’s national security and it’s all at stake!
25th amendment and other measures need…

It is crucial to address the issue of aging and mental health among our nation’s leaders, regardless of political affiliation. The current state of leadership, as demonstrated by President Biden, raises concerns about the country’s well-being. If senators like McConnell are unable to fulfill their duties, they should resign, regardless of their political party.
However, it is often observed that politicians hold onto power for as long as possible. Even if McConnell’s health is in question, it is likely that he will still run for re-election in 2026 and possibly even in 2032.
