“I would hope that our new incoming attorney general, who I like a lot, I like Pam Bondi a lot, I hope that she looks into it and would consider murder charges, some sort of charges. At least,” Greene said in an interview.

The rising Republican has for years worked to help the hundreds of Capitol riot protesters locked up in jails and convicted of various charges for rushing the building during the 2021 Electoral College certification of President Joe Biden’s election in 2020.

In the case of Babbitt, Greene has joined others in focusing on how the administration and congressional Democrats have favored the U.S. Capitol Police officer who shot the unarmed Air Force veteran, Capt. Michael Byrd.

Testimony and video from the day showed Babbitt being pushed through a door window into the House Speaker’s Lobby behind the House floor when, without warning, she was shot by Byrd.
The shooting was investigated, but no charges were leveled, and Byrd was promoted.

Judicial Watch is helping Babbitt’s family with a wrongful death suit against the government.

In addition to the promotion from lieutenant, Just the News reported this week that House Democratic leaders pressured the Capitol Police to give Byrd a $37,000 retention bonus, help with $160,000 in private fundraising, and housing.

Meanwhile, the 115-pound Babbitt, who was 36 when shot, has been savaged in the liberal media.

Greene is also seeking a pardon of every Jan. 6 protester, including those in jail on violence convictions.

“That’s what I’m going to push for, even the January 6 defendants that are serving time in prison right now, whether they fought with police officers or pushing and shoving in the tunnel. Maybe they even did damage, broke a window and climbed in the Capitol. I think they’ve served enough time. They didn’t kill anybody, they didn’t rape anybody, they didn’t invade our country, like all these illegal aliens. I think they’ve served enough time, and they’re political hostages,” said Greene.

Greene continued, “My view is every single one of them needs to be pardoned and released. And you know when I always say this, compare it to antifa and BLM rioters and protesters. Over 95% of charges dropped, let these people out of prison, give them their lives back. It’s time. It’s been too much.”

Greene is hopeful that President-elect Donald Trump will grant a pardon of the 1,500 Jan. 6 protesters facing charges on his first day or first week in office and she sees hope for that in the incoming president’s choice of David Warrington as White House counsel. He represented Trump during a House select committee’s investigation into the riots and is very well respected in Washington.

“I am hoping it’s immediate,” she said of the pardons that Trump promised while campaigning this year.

“They’re being sentenced almost every week here there’s more cases going on, more sentencing hearings. It is terrible. It just needs to end as soon as possible,” said Greene.
