Trump spokesperson says mugshot merchandise sales have surged.
Former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has experienced a remarkable surge in fundraising. Since his mugshot was taken after surrendering at an Atlanta jail, the campaign has raised over $9 million. The mugshot, released on his Truth Social and X accounts, immediately captured widespread attention, with his X post receiving over 1.7 million likes and 250 million views. Taking advantage of the mugshot’s popularity, the Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee has put it on various merchandise, including coffee mugs, T-shirts, posters, beverage coolers, and bumper stickers.

According to Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for President Trump’s 2024 White House bid, the campaign has raised $9.4 million since the mugshot was released. The sales of mugshot merchandise have skyrocketed, with 36,000 T-shirts, 24,000 coffee mugs, and 8,600 posters sold, generating a total of $1.7 million, $864,000, and $352,000 respectively. Fox News was the first to report on these impressive fundraising totals, with the campaign clarifying that the money will be used for campaign and political activities, not legal expenses.
President Trump currently faces two federal cases and two state cases. In Fulton County, Georgia, he and 18 co-defendants were indicted on Aug. 14 for their involvement in disputing the state’s 2020 election results. President Trump described his experience of being booked into the Fulton County Jail as terrible and uncomfortable. He and the other co-defendants are scheduled for arraignment before the Fulton County Superior Court on Sept. 6, with the district attorney requesting an Oct. 23 trial date for all 19 defendants.
‘Stand With Him’
Liz Harrington, spokesperson for President Trump, attributes the surge in donations to the American people’s decision to stand with the former president. In an interview with EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program, she stated that the American people recognize the relentless persecution he has faced and rally behind him. The mugshot resonated strongly with the American people, symbolizing President Trump’s fight for them and his defiance against a corrupt system.
The day after President Trump’s booking, his campaign raised $4.18 million, marking the highest-grossing day of his campaign so far. This record-breaking fundraising demonstrates the intelligence of the American people, who have a strong sense of right and wrong and recognize the lack of fairness and justice in his legal battles. Supporters like Laura Loomer have shown their solidarity by purchasing multiple T-shirts, coffee mugs, and bumper stickers.
Richard Kligman, owner of two Trump Superstores, has witnessed the overwhelming demand for the mugshot merchandise. Many lawmakers have also shared President Trump’s mugshot on X and commented on the indictments against him. Despite the ongoing legal troubles, a recent poll shows that more potential Republican primary voters believe President Trump has the best chance to beat President Joe Biden in 2024.
