Muhammad Ali’s Grandson To Fight In Las Vegas MMA Event
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – The Professional Fighters League is the second largest mixed martial arts promotion worldwide, behind the UFC.
The PFL will host its first half-season in Las Vegas this April. While the league features fighters from all over the world, come April there will be a Las Vegas resident and former UNLV football player in the cage – Biaggio Ali Walsh.
Biaggio began his MMA journey after his football career was over. Walsh began MMA as a way to release stress and became a passion. The PFL was notified.
Walsh’s training started in 2019, but he was actually born into mixed martial arts, as a grandson of Muhammed Ali, the late great boxer.
Walsh reminisces about the times when he used to communicate with his grandfather who had Parkinson’s disease through old western movies and music videos, as well as drawings.
But those moments of clarity are priceless “The Greatest” He was able to offer coaching advice, emphasizing how important running and dancing are.
Walsh admits to feeling the pressure of the Muhammad Ali name but he uses that as motivation. Just like “The Champ,” Each fight is approached with the goal of entertaining and not just competing.
Walsh claims he learned everything from his grandfather, and that he used it to fuel his MMA journey. His fight on April 7th at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be a highlight of his MMA career.
