An Ohio Man Faces Potential Death Sentence for Execution-Style Killings of His Three Sons
Chad Doerman, a man from Ohio, is currently facing a potential death sentence after the horrifying execution-style killings of his three young sons. In a Friday hearing, Doerman pleaded not guilty to 21 criminal charges, including charges of aggravated murder for each of his sons.
The state’s case against Doerman was outlined by Clermont County prosecutor Mark Tekulve during the hearing, revealing bone-chilling details about the incident that occurred on June 15.

Tekulve described how Doerman first shot his 4-year-old son Hunter, then proceeded to gun down his 7-year-old son Clayton from behind with a rifle. The prosecutor also revealed that Doerman ripped his 3-year-old son Chase from his mother’s arms before fatally shooting him.
Court documents filed by prosecutors stated that Doerman had already confessed to the shocking killings to law enforcement and had been planning them for months.
During the hearing, a prosecutor described Doerman’s actions as “the most heinous, monstrous crime” and a judge ordered the defendant to be held on a $20 million bond.
Doerman’s bond would later be revoked entirely in a subsequent hearing.
Speaking after the court proceedings, Tekulve made it clear that his goal was to have Doerman executed, expressing his disbelief and horror at the terror the young boys must have experienced as their own father murdered them.
Doerman was captured calmly speaking to law enforcement in body camera footage of his arrest.

Doerman appeared emotional and cried during a subsequent court appearance.
Another pretrial hearing for Doerman is scheduled for July 5.
While Ohio law allows for the death penalty, the state has not carried out an execution since 2018, according to the Death Penalty Information Center.
