NASA released a report on Wednesday stating That a large asteroid has a small chance of impacting the Earth on February 14th 2046.

NASA’s Planetary Defense Coordination Office reported they had been following an asteroid measuring 162 feet in diameter that could strike the earth in 20 years. The asteroid was named “2023 DW,” According to some reports, it is as large as an NFL football field or as big as an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

NASA’s orbit experts have stated that the possibility of the object striking Earth is still possible “very small.” They give the asteroid 1/10 chance of striking Earth.

“Current calculations show the chance of collision is extremely unlikely with no cause for public attention or public concern,” According to Torino Scale.

According to the agency, it will continue to monitor the impact of the asteroid every day and expects that the risk level will decrease as more information is gathered.
