Nashville Shooter Planned To Shoot Up Mall, Police Believe
The chief of police in Nashville has stated that the shooter who killed three children and three adults at a Christian school had planned to attack a local mall as well as family members. The transgender shooter, aged 28, is said to have left a manifesto and booklet detailing the attack, including maps, weapons, and clothing. Nashville Police Chief John Drake indicated that the police discovered two more weapons and additional maps at the shooter’s parents’ home. One of the shooter’s messages to a friend read, “I’m planning to die today. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!! You’ll probably hear about me on the news after I die.”
At a vigil held on Monday night, the older sister of one of the nine-year-old victims made a poignant plea: “I don’t want to be an only child.” Covenant School, where the shooting occurred, expressed devastation at the events, noting that the school and church community are focused on recovery and the healing process.
