Nashville Shooter Planned To Shoot Up Mall, Police Say
According to Nashville’s chief of police, the shooter who killed three adults and three children at a Christian school had plans to attack a local mall and family members. The transgender shooter, who identified as a man, had a manifesto and maps indicating the entry point to the school, weapons, and clothing to wear during the attack. The police found two more weapons and additional maps during a search of the shooter’s parents’ home, suggesting there were more intended targets. The shooter had sent messages to a friend warning of imminent danger and planned to die that day.
The Covenant School expressed sadness and grief over the tragic events and is focusing on healing their students, faculty, and the affected families. The shooting victims include Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney, Dr. Katherine Koonce, Cynthia Peak, and Mike Hill. At a vigil, Evelyn’s older sister expressed her sadness about being an only child now.
