Nashville Transgender Shooter’s Manifesto Will Be Released to Public
Following a shooting incident at a Nashville Christian school, which left six people dead, investigators disclosed that the shooter, who was a radicalized transgender, left behind a manifesto. The manifesto is believed to reveal the motive behind the heinous crime.
Although local law enforcement previously indicated that the manifesto would not be released, a Nashville City Council member announced that the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit is working with the Metro Nashville Police Department to analyze the shooter’s manifesto and that it would subsequently be released to the public (The New York Post). However, the FBI has to first review the document before it can be made public.
Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale’s pre-killing spree manifesto is set to be released to the public after the FBI and its’ highly skilled team of criminal profilers analyze its contents, a Nashville Council Member revealed to The Post.
“The manifesto is going to be released. There are some incredibly brilliant psychological minds and psychological analysts combing through her entire life,” added Swope, who is a member of the City Council’s Public Safety, Beer and Regulated Beverages Committee.
However, the delay in releasing the manifesto has raised concerns that the FBI and DOJ may be withholding information, as they have done in the past. It is important that the media and the public continue to demand transparency from these institutions.
It is essential that the shooter’s motives, particularly if she was radicalized by extremist rhetoric, be made known to the public. Any attempt to conceal the truth, as was done in the Waukesha Massacre, is unacceptable. When the shooter is a white supremacist, the manifesto is always released, and there is never a question of motive. This case should be no different.
