A Nashville woman was taken into custody on Saturday after she took her infant to a local hospital with signs of fentanyl exposure.

Frances Grech, 34, first brought her 1-month-old to Hendersonville Hospital, the baby’s primary caregiver, where the child began to vomit and change color, according to a report citing the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Following the drastic change, the infant was transported to Centennial Pediatrics, where it tested positive for fentanyl exposure.

Both the MNPD and Department of Children’s Services were dispatched to the scene, and Grech confessed she had had a friend come over to her residence following a girls’ night, according to the report.

After the friend arrived, Grech checked the infant’s forehead, and the young child began going pale and vomiting, she told police, according to the arrest report.

Grech said she had used amphetamines early Friday morning, but a drug screening showed she tested positive for fentanyl, the report noted.

The infant only tested positive for fentanyl exposure, and Grech is facing charges of aggravated child neglect.
