During the ​court proceedings, Van der Sloot admitted ⁣to murdering the 18-year-old ⁢after she rejected his sexual advances.

“We‌ agreed to the ⁣deal to finally get the answers we’ve⁣ been searching for for all these⁤ years,” said Holloway’s mother.

“He ⁤is evil personified,” added Dave Holloway, Natalee’s‍ father, in a victim’s impact⁤ statement.

“Having ⁤seen and heard him⁣ confess to the brutal murder of our daughter, I believe him,” he stated.

“We ⁢are satisfied that our daughter ⁢died⁣ at his hands and⁣ that he acted alone.”

Van der Sloot‍ is currently serving‌ a 20-year prison sentence in Peru for the 2010 murder of Stephany Flores. He will serve his extortion sentence concurrently.

Judge Anna Manasco described ⁤Van der Sloot’s crimes as “heinous” ⁣for giving false hope to Holloway’s family through the extortion, as reported by Fox News.

During his court appearance,⁢ Van​ der Sloot expressed a desire to apologize to⁤ the Holloway family and claimed to have changed⁣ as⁤ a person.

According to Holloway’s father’s lawyer, Mark ​White, Van der Sloot cannot be prosecuted for the murder in Aruba⁢ due to the statute of‍ limitations.
