National Archives Has Released 7 Statements About Trump’s Docs, Zero on Biden’s

The National Archives’ list of press releases about presidential records shows that, while seven of the releases address documents received from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, None of the documents was reported. at President Joe Biden’s Delaware home and former D.C. office.

National Archives will be open on December 20, 2022 Published a list, which it has continued to update, of statements it has released regarding presidential documents, dating back to January of 2022 – all obtained prior to the FBI’s raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in August 2022.

“In response to recent media reports that generated a large number of queries about presidential records, we issued the following statements to the media,” The National Archives explains it in “Press Statements in Response to Media Queries About Presidential Records Media Alert · Tuesday, December 20, 2022,” Here’s the list:

The first statement was published in January 31, 2022Reports claim that White House records management officials from Trump Administration had handed over records that had been damaged and needed to reassemble them.

Next statement published February 7, 2022According to a report, Trump representatives had sent Mar-a-Lago records to the Archives and were continuing their search for more.

“In mid-January 2022, NARA arranged for the transport from the Trump Mar-a-Lago property in Florida to the National Archives of 15 boxes that contained Presidential records, following discussions with President Trump’s representatives in 2021. Former President Trump’s representatives have informed NARA that they are continuing to search for additional Presidential records that belong to the National Archives.”

The next day (February 8, 2022), the Archives released a statement reiterating the cooperation of Trump’s representatives – and declaring that it had not conducted a “raid” Mar-a-Lago

“Throughout the course of the last year, NARA obtained the cooperation of Trump representatives to locate Presidential records that had not been transferred to the National Archives at the end of the Trump administration. When a representative informed NARA in December 2021 that they had located some records, NARA arranged for them to be securely transported to Washington. NARA officials did not visit or ‘raid’ the Mar-a-Lago property.”

Each of the four statements about Trump were reported separately in the “release of documents processed in response to nearly 50 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests seeking NARA records related to the 15 boxes of materials we received from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in January 2022.” Each of the posts All linked These documents were released as January 2022 documents.

The Archives released three statements, one on records obtained by multiple presidents and the other on the handling records from Barack Obama’s presidency.
