National Archives uncovers numerous Biden emails sent using false identities
The National Archives Uncovers Thousands of Biden Emails Sent Under Fake Names
The National Archives has recently confirmed the existence of over 5,000 emails in which then-vice president Joe Biden used pseudonyms to discuss both government and personal matters. This revelation comes to light through a letter that has been released to the public.
Freedom of Information Act Request
Last year, the Southeastern Legal Foundation submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the National Archives, seeking emails connected to known aliases used by Biden, such as Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware. In response to this request, the agency disclosed the potential existence of these emails in an email response.
The Southeastern Legal Foundation, after filing a lawsuit demanding the release of the emails, has made the National Archives’ response public.
The National Archives’ Response
In June 2022, the National Archives informed the foundation that they had identified approximately 5,138 email messages, 25 electronic files, and 200 pages of potentially responsive records related to the request. However, the agency has not yet handed over any of these email records.
The foundation’s lawsuit against the National Archives aims to ensure the release of these emails, as the American public deserves to know their contents.
Undermining the President’s Claim
While the National Archives has not released any of the email records, previously uncovered emails sent to Biden’s pseudonymous accounts have already cast doubt on the president’s claim of maintaining an “absolute wall” between his official work and his son Hunter’s business dealings.
For instance, in a May 2016 email sent to Biden’s alias account under the name Robert Peters, a staffer for the then-vice president discussed an upcoming phone meeting between Biden and then-Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko. Notably, Hunter Biden, who was serving on the board of Ukrainian energy giant Burisma Holdings at the time, was copied on this email.
