Nebraska Becomes 27th State to Enact Constitutional Carry
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has signed a new law that allows law-abiding citizens aged 21 and above to carry a concealed handgun without a permit. This makes Nebraska the 27th state to join the constitutional carry majority.
In a press release, Gov. Pillen said, “Signing this bill upholds the promise I made to voters to protect our constitutional rights and promote commonsense, conservative values. I appreciate the hard work of those senators who supported this legislation, and particularly that of Sen. Brewer who led this charge and carried it through to the end.”
The new law will go into effect 90 days after the end of the legislative session, which is scheduled for June 9. The bill is backed by the NRA.
NRA Supports Constitutional Carry
Randy Kozuch, executive director of the NRA’s legislative lobby arm, said in a statement to Fox News, “Today, Nebraska joined 26 other states whose constituents and leaders recognize that law-abiding Americans should not have to ask for special government permission and pay additional fees in order to exercise their rights outside of the home.”
Benefits of Constitutional Carry
- No need for a permit to carry a concealed handgun
- Protects constitutional rights
- Promotes conservative values
- Reduces government interference
With the enactment of this law, Nebraskans can now exercise their Second Amendment rights without unnecessary government interference. This is a victory for constitutional rights and conservative values.
