Former Justice Daniel Kelly and his conservative allies launched a new ad on Monday taking aim at liberal Judge Janet Protasiewicz’s record on crime.
Three Wisconsin deputies accused Protasiewicz of failing to imprison offenders in it.
Sheriffs Wes Revels, Eric Severson, and Dale Schmidt stated in the advertisement,” Our officials risk their lives to protect your spouses, but law enforcement’s hands are tied when courts like Janet Protasiewicz refuse to have dangerous criminals accountable.” Quantrell Bounds was the man who assaulted and raped a 13-year-old girl and recorded and posted the affair online. Limitations was given a five years and nine months in prison sentence by Protasiewicz, who also suspended the sentence and granted him parole.
Numerous special interest groups, including the country’s largest business organization and a super PAC supported by billionaire Richard Uihlein, have also criticized Protasiewicz for her” tender of crime” position.
Protasiewicz is specifically criticized for suspending Matthew Neumann’s prison sentence for murdering two of his cleaning industry workers and setting their bodies on fire on a hunting house after being found guilty of domestic abuse.
The Bounds and Neumann cases, according to Protasiewicz, were cherry-picked to make her look frail. She has defended her capture.
