New Hampshire GOP Senate Candidate Attacked Arriving at Debate
New Hampshire Republican Senate nominee Don Bolduc was allegedly assaulted as he arrived at the debate against incumbent Democrat Sen. Maggie Hassan, but the incident appears to have not affected his performance.
Bolduc, a former Army general who served in the War in Afghanistan, squared off against Hassan over abortion, inflation, the border crisis and more in their final debate Wednesday before the election next week, Fox News reported.
Bolduc was allegedly assaulted as he arrived at Saint Anselm College’s New Hampshire Institute of Politics for the debate. His campaign said a man who appeared to be a Libertarian activist threw a punch, slightly grazing Bolduc without injuring him.
Hassan’s campaign communications director Kevin Donohoe tweeted about the incident: “Disgusting behavior. We saw this same libertarian party activist get aggressive with our campaign volunteers at this debate and the last.”
Both candidates’ campaigns declared victory after the debate.
Hassan “had no answers for her failed leadership that has led to high inflation, astronomical gas prices, open borders, and crime-ridden streets,” Bolduc’s campaign said Thursday.
“Bolduc is the most extreme nominee New Hampshire has seen in decades,” Hassan’s campaign said the day after the debate.
