WEST MILFORD, N.J.—In a shocking incident on Friday night, an explosion rocked a home in West Milford, New Jersey, leaving five people injured and the house severely damaged, according to the West Milford Police Department.
The cause of the explosion, which occurred around 9 p.m., remains unknown, as reported by northjersey.com. West Milford Deputy Fire Chief Rich Poplaski stated that the structure collapsed due to the blast.
The victims were swiftly airlifted to various medical centers for treatment. Two were taken to Morristown Medical Center, one to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, one to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, and another to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Located just north of Morristown and northwest of New York City, West Milford is now grappling with the aftermath of this devastating incident. The investigation is currently being conducted by West Milford detectives and the fire marshal’s offices from both the town and state.
