New Nevada Gov. Rescinds COVID Mandates
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo signed the first two executive orders that repeal all COVID-19 mandates of the Sisolak administration. They also directed state leadership to address workforce shortages and resume in-person office operations before July 1.

Lombardo Chief of Staff Ben Kieckhefer said 2 News Nearly one in four positions in the state are vacant at present, which suggests that things are not moving forward.
Executive Order 2023-002 directs Department of Administration. “review and make recommendations with respect to hiring, retention and promotional rules and procedures related to State employment.”
It also gives instructions to the department “transition the State workforce to pre-pandemic, normal and customary office conditions by July 1, 2023.”
Lombard also reappointed James Dzurenda as the former director of Nevada Department of Corrections, (NDOC), who was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval back in 2016. He resigned in 2019, according To News 3 LV.
NDOC was established in 1996 by Charles Daniels, who was the former director. Forced to resign After an inmate escaped a state prison.
Lombardo announced 17 cabinet nominations this week. Ten of them are from the Sisolak administration. The Nevada Independent
