Trump leads in key swing state previously won by Biden.
New Poll Shows Trump Leading in Crucial Battleground State Won by Biden in 2020
Former President Donald Trump is currently outpacing President Joe Biden in the crucial battleground state of Wisconsin, according to a recent poll. This latest survey adds to a series of similar findings in other key swing states, indicating a potential trend.
Trump is currently ahead of Biden in Wisconsin, with 42% of voters supporting him compared to Biden’s 40%. 11% of voters are choosing someone else, while 8% remain undecided.
The poll, conducted by Emerson College, follows several other recent surveys in battleground states that also showed Trump leading Biden, including Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling, commented on the significance of these findings, stating, “In a state Biden won in 2020 by less than a percentage point, and Trump won in 2016 by nearly the same margin, this poll suggests a similar trajectory for 2024.”
Another survey by Emerson College revealed that Trump is also leading Biden in Pennsylvania by 9 points. Similarly, in Michigan, a poll conducted by the Marketing Resource Group shows Trump with a 7-point lead over Biden.
It is worth noting that Trump won all three of these battleground states in 2016 against Hillary Clinton but lost them to Biden in 2020.
Furthermore, recent polling indicates that Trump is also ahead of Biden in other key swing states such as Georgia and North Carolina, as well as in national surveys.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released in mid-September, Trump is leading Biden in the states with the narrowest margins of victory in 2020, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The most recent polling data for the 2024 Republican and Democratic primaries, as reflected in the RealClearPolitics average, shows Trump and Biden leading their respective fields.
Trump is currently leading the Republican primary with 57.8% support, while Biden is leading the Democratic primary with 61.3% support.
The Emerson College poll, which surveyed 532 Wisconsin voters from October 1 to October 4, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2%.

How did Trump’s popularity in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan contribute to his victory in the 2016 presidential election?
Ese states—Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan—in the 2016 presidential election, which proved crucial to his victory over Hillary Clinton. These recent poll results indicate that Trump’s popularity in these states continues to hold strong, despite being out of office for several months.
The findings of these surveys have sparked speculation about the potential outcome of the 2024 presidential election. Many political analysts believe that Trump’s strong showing in these crucial battleground states could position him as a formidable candidate for the Republican Party in the next election cycle.
Additionally, these results highlight the complexity and uncertainty of American politics. Just a year ago, Biden was able to secure victories in states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, which were considered key to his electoral success. However, these recent polls suggest that the political landscape is always evolving, and nothing can be taken for granted in the world of politics.
The shifting dynamics in these states also indicate the importance of understanding the concerns and priorities of the electorate. Trump’s appeal to voters in these battleground states might stem from his ability to connect with working-class Americans and address their economic interests. His America First agenda, which emphasized protecting American industries and jobs, resonated with many voters who felt left behind by globalization.
Another potential factor contributing to Trump’s lead in these states is his strong base of supporters. Trump has maintained a loyal following that continues to stand behind him, even after leaving office. His unconventional style of politics and willingness to challenge the status quo have endeared him to a significant portion of the electorate.
However, it is important to approach these poll results with caution. Polls are snapshots in time and are subject to fluctuations and margins of error. A lot can change between now and the next election, and it is difficult to accurately predict the political landscape several years in advance. Additionally, voter preferences may shift based on a variety of factors, including the performance of the current administration, major policy initiatives, and unforeseen events.
Nonetheless, these recent poll results highlight the continued relevance and influence of Donald Trump in American politics. Despite facing impeachment twice and leaving office on a controversial note, Trump has maintained a strong base of support that could significantly impact future elections.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, it will be interesting to see how these battleground states evolve and whether Republicans will ultimately choose Trump as their candidate. These poll results serve as a reminder that American politics is ever-changing and that no candidate can be counted out, regardless of their past victories or defeats.
