The Attorney General of Texas has stated Joe Biden’s border policies have incentivized human smuggling. During an interview with Breitbart over the weekend, Ken Paxton reported illegal immigration under Biden has been the worst the country has ever seen.
Paxton argued Biden’s immigration policies have encouraged human smuggling and trafficking. He also stated federal law enforcement officials at the border are told to not publicly discuss their observations.
“The reality is, it’s as bad as it’s ever been. The Biden administration is benefiting one group of people called cartels,” he explained. “The cartels are the primary beneficiaries of this, because they’re making money off of almost every single person that comes through, who are charged thousands of dollars.”

The Texas attorney general also said cartels benefit from border security that focus its resources on caretaking of migrants.
He went on to say, “…The border becomes more porous for drug smuggling because border patrol is so busy taking care of all these people that are just being invited to come to our country.”
The Biden administration claimed an Obama-era program will help combat the migrant surge at the border, while insisting the border is not open. However, The U.S. has allowed 4,000 Central American minors to enter legally through the border with the Central American Minors (CAM) program. The program restarted in March and is schedule for expansion to make tens of thousands of applicants eligible.
I will do everything in my legal power with @GregAbbott_TX to stop this crisis @POTUS has created. The Cartels are who is benefiting directly from this crisis. No more! Not in Texas. #BorderCrisis #Texas https://t.co/zBJVRdpX0O

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced in a joint statement plans to reopen cases that were closed when the program was terminated. New applications have not been accepted, which directly affects minors from Central America.
The expansion of CAM will allow Central American migrant parents and legal guardians to send their children to the U.S. Migrant children may be flown into the country with taxpayer dollars in what the Biden administration claims is a safe and legal alternative to minors trying to cross the southern border alone.
The program has reunited 5,000 children to their families.
