New Report Reveals the States Americans Fled and Flocked to Last Year

A recent report revealed where Americans moved to last year — and the top places that they left.

Allied Van Lines’ Magnet States Report Information about how Americans move around the country was revealed starting in 2022. It was clear that people moved fewer last year than they did in 2021 and 2020. There was a 20% drop in moves in every state in the country, which translated into fewer people moving over the course 2022.

Arizona was the top state to move to in 2022. South Carolina, North Carolina. Tennessee and Texas were next. First, Tucson, Arizona was the most desired city. Then came Sarasota in Florida, Charlotte, North Carolina, Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee.

Americans also left certain states more often than others. Illinois is the most popular, followed by California and New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Americans were most likely to leave New York, New York, Anaheim, California, San Diego, California, Chicago, Illinois, and Riverside, California as the top three cities.

Americans were more likely to move on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In June, most people moved. July and august were next.

The report also noted that not all major cities saw a significant increase in population in last year, as more people choose to live in the suburbs to escape the hustle and bustle of the big cities.

Many cities experiencing a significant increase in residents saw an increase in home prices. However, high prices also occurred in the areas where people moved.

New York City’s average home costs 119% more than the average across the country. Home prices in Riverside, Anaheim, San Diego, and San Diego are also higher than the average. Chicago is one example. However, its home prices are below the national average. This could be a sign that other issues, such as crime or cost, are driving residents out of the city.

According to Neighborhood ScoutAnaheim, California also has a problem with crime. Its crime index states that it is more safe than just 9% other cities in the United States. New York’s crime Index is 15, whereas Riverside’s is 5, and San Diego’s is 17. Chicago’s crime index Also available at a 9.

Except for Tucson, all of the top cities where people are moving experienced an increase in home prices.

The report stated that the majority of Americans had lived fifteen miles from their homes before the pandemic. However, today they live fifty miles from their homes.

A Report Extra Space Storage reported that they expect the housing market to be more stable in 2018. This could allow many people to move easier.
