Nicki Minaj and Ben Shapiro clash on Twitter.
Conservative Podcast Host Ben Shapiro Engages in Online Feud with Rapper Nicki Minaj
It seems like the world of politics and music collided when conservative podcast host Ben Shapiro found himself in a heated exchange with rapper Nicki Minaj over her songwriting. The clash began on Shapiro’s podcast, where he decided to read the lyrics to Minaj’s controversial track, “Pound Town 2.”
Shapiro, who is well aware of Minaj’s penchant for adopting different personas in her music, expressed his hope that one of those characters, namely “Roman,” would make an appearance on the song. Little did he know that this innocent comment would ignite a fiery back-and-forth between the two.
Twitter Feud Erupts
“Roman said leave his a** out of it sir!” Minaj swiftly responded on Twitter, adding, “No pun intended.”
Unfazed by Minaj’s retort, Shapiro fired back, saying, “Not possible, since you have apparently never recorded a song that left your a** out of it.”
Minaj, never one to back down, cheekily replied, “Next time I’ll be sure to add my d***, so you can suk it [sic]. Love you.”
Amidst the escalating tension, Shapiro couldn’t resist a final jab, writing, “Surprise twist: Nicki Minaj was the one with the anaconda all along.”
Minaj responded with a meme, expressing her confusion and leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next move in this unexpected feud.
While the clash between Shapiro and Minaj may have caught many by surprise, it’s worth noting that “Pound Town 2” debuted at number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during the week of June 5. The song features rapper Sexyy Red, whose lyrics were also dissected by Shapiro on his podcast. Additionally, a lyric music video for the track has garnered an impressive 1.5 million views on YouTube.
This isn’t the first time Shapiro has delved into the world of rap lyrics on his podcast. He previously analyzed Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s controversial hit, “WAP,” comparing it to Minaj’s “Pound Town 2.” In Shapiro’s eyes, Minaj’s song made “WAP” seem “child friendly.” It’s clear that Shapiro isn’t one to shy away from critiquing explicit lyrics in the music industry.
