Republican 2024 Presidential Hopeful Nikki Haley Takes a Stand Against Sanctuary Cities
During her defund sanctuary cities.”>latest presidential campaign stop, Nikki Haley, a potential Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election, passionately spoke out against sanctuary cities. Her powerful message was delivered at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday, where she competed for attention alongside other notable candidates, including former President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
One of the highlights of Haley’s visit was a sit-down interview with Governor Kim Reynolds (R-IA), who has remained neutral and refrained from endorsing any candidate. Reynolds graciously provided each candidate with ample time to address the enthusiastic crowd.

“We will come and we will finally deal with the border,” Haley declared, making a new campaign promise. “First of all, we will make sure we defund sanctuary cities once and for all.”
Haley, a former United Nations ambassador and the former governor of South Carolina, emphasized that her state does not have any sanctuary cities. However, neighboring states like North Carolina and Georgia have a significant number of sanctuary counties.
“We’ll go back to the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy because, guess what, no one wants to remain in Mexico,” Haley asserted. “And then instead of ‘catch-and-release,’ we’ll go to catch-and-deport. That’s how you go and make sure you stop the border.”
