No One Is Above The Law? Give Me A Break

The left’s claim that “no one is above the law” is a ludicrous fantasy, considering the many people who have lied under oath and committed other crimes without facing consequences. James Clapper and John Brennan are among those who are “above the law,” along with Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton, who mishandled classified information and ignored congressional subpoenas.

Meanwhile, the contemporary left increasingly justifies using the legal system as a tool for political justice, as seen with Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who promised to pursue social justice instead of impartial justice. The left’s double standards and growing disdain for limiting principles is doing profound damage to the system. Democrats who think that the Trump arraignment won’t come back to bite them are mistaken.

Conservatives, on the other hand, must be careful not to engage in wish-casting when it comes to the consequences of Trump’s potential indictment. Rather than relying on shifting norms that reward those most willing to use power, both sides should respect the rule of law and hold everyone accountable regardless of political affiliation.
