Non-Citizen Voted in NYC’s Elections for More Than a Decade

Today we bring you the latest edition in our ongoing series covering some illegal activity that we are regularly assured “almost never happens” according to Democrats and their willing stenographers in the mainstream media. We are speaking of voter fraud, of course. And this weekend we’re seeing yet more proof that it actually does happen, even if it sometimes takes place unintentionally. The subject of this story as covered by the New York Post is 63-year-old Abdul Rahman Kargbo of the Big Apple. To be clear, Mr. Kargbo is not an illegal alien. He came to the country legally and obtained a green card. He also does not appear to have ever intentionally broken the law. His voter registration documents show that he properly answered “no” to the question of whether he was a U.S. citizen. And yet the geniuses at the municipal Board of Elections registered him anyway and sent him his registration. Kargbo then went on to vote in nearly every election for the next decade or more. And according to a whistleblower at the Board of Elections who spoke to the Post, he may be only one of “thousands” who have been regularly voting in this fashion.

A non-citizen green card-holder in Manhattan may have been illegally voting in city elections for the past 13 years — possibly one of “thousands” of similarly bogus voters, a city Board of Elections whistleblower told The Post.

Abdul Rahman Kargbo, 63, first registered to vote in November 2005. according to records from the New York City Board of Elections. He enrolled in the Democratic Party and voted in nine general and primary elections between 2008 and 2021, the records show.

A copy of Kargbo’s original voter registration form obtained by The Post shows he clearly and honestly marked that he was not a US citizen, yet the clueless agency registered him anyway.

The linked article starts off by saying that Kargbo “may have been illegally voting.” But that part of the story doesn’t seem to be in dispute. In addition to his original registration application, Mr. Kargbo’s voting history was reviewed as well. He is recorded as having voted in nine general and primary elections. Without even realizing it, he was committing voter fraud in all of them.

Or perhaps not. This error was discovered back in July and Mr. Kargbo was notified about it. He almost immediately sent a letter to the Board of Elections asking them to close out his voter registration status as of July 14, 2022. In the letter, he stated that he is a green card holder and not a citizen so he is “not eligible to cast a vote.” When the Post interviewed him for this story, he denied ever having cast a vote.

Two possibilities immediately spring to mind to explain this. The first is that he’s denying having voted because having a record of illegal voting (even unintentionally) might complicate his application to become a citizen. The other possibility is that someone else illegally registered to vote under his name and has been casting “extra” votes for the past twelve years.

No matter which explanation turns out to be true, it’s still disturbing. And if the BoE whistleblower is correct and there are literally thousands of registrations like this making the rounds, the results of many local elections could be cast in doubt.

So who was at fault for all of this? That’s where the finger-pointing begins. The city Board of Elections clearly either registered someone who is ineligible or registered someone illegally impersonating Mr. Kargbo. They note that anyone can register using a cable television bill or a utility bill as identification under the city’s lax voter registration laws. They further claimed that the responsibility for verifying voter information rests with the state Board of Elections, not the municipal board. But a spokesman for the state Board of Elections said that there is no way under the current laws for them to verify citizenship status and that there is no federal database where citizenship status can be checked.

In other words, it is illegal for a non-citizen to vote, but the government doesn’t allow state and municipal officials to verify citizenship status. I assume that checking someone’s status would be considered racist or something, right? Well, the case has been turned over to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for investigation so I’m sure we’re in good hands now. (Insert sarcasm hashtag here.)
