GOP Senate candidate Tim Sheehy, supported by NRSC, purchases first ad in Montana.
Bridger Aerospace CEO Tim Sheehy Makes First Statewide Ad Buy in Montana Senate Race
Bridger Aerospace CEO and former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy, a Republican running for Senate to unseat Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) in Montana, made his first statewide ad buy on Friday. Sheehy’s campaign announced that it purchased slots for two ads to air across various channels in the state, including broadcast, cable, satellite television, and digital platforms. The ads, a 30-second and 60-second video featuring the veteran, highlight Sheehy’s experience as a Navy SEAL fighting in Afghanistan and his successful business ventures in Montana.
A Message of Service, God, and Country
In the minute-long ad, Sheehy passionately states, “Whether it was in war or business, I see problems and solve them. America needs conservative leaders who love our country. I want to create a better future for my kids and your children and grandchildren. Our campaign is about service, God, and country, not politics as usual.”
According to Politico, the ad buy was worth $200,000 and will be aired across various media channels. Sheehy has garnered endorsements from prominent Republican figures such as Gov. Greg Gianforte (R-MT), Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT), and Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Ted Budd (R-NC), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and John Barrasso (R-WY).
Senate Republicans are aiming to avoid a messy primary battle, despite Rep. Matt Rosendale’s (R-MT) reported intentions to enter the race. Rosendale previously ran against Tester as the Republican nominee in 2018, losing by a narrow margin. The conservative Club for Growth, which has supported Rosendale in the past, has indicated that it is impressed by Sheehy and may not commit to supporting a Rosendale campaign if he decides to enter the primary race.
Tester, who is rated as “lean Democratic” by The Cook Political Report, may prove to be a formidable opponent. Despite disapproval of President Joe Biden among Montana voters, Tester maintains a relatively high approval rating of 42%. This rating surpasses other vulnerable Democratic senators who struggle to break 34% in the same category, including Joe Manchin (D-WV), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Bob Casey (D-PA), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI).
As the race for the Montana Senate seat heats up, Sheehy’s ad buy marks a significant step in his campaign to unseat Tester and bring conservative leadership to the state.
