Hurricane Idalia Approaches Florida’s Gulf Coast
The first squalls of Hurricane Idalia began hitting Florida in the afternoon on Aug. 29—with people in Key West and along the southwest coast its initial recipients. The intensifying storm continues on its path toward Florida’s Big Bend Gulf Coast and is expected to reach Category 3 before it makes landfall on Aug. 30, according to a National Hurricane Center advisory.
Potential Pseudonym Email Accounts of President Joe Biden
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has more than 5,000 documents that potentially reveal President Joe Biden using pseudonym email accounts during his vice presidency, according to a press release from the Southeastern Legal Foundation.
Former Trump Associates Plead Not Guilty in Election Case
Three of former President Donald Trump’s associates in the Fulton County, Georgia, election case have pleaded not guilty. Former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell and publicist Trevian Kutti each entered a plea of “not guilty,” a day after attorney Ray Smith pleaded the same way, to racketeering and conspiracy charges advanced by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
University of North Carolina Graduate Student Charged with Murder
Police charged a University of North Carolina graduate student with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a faculty member that caused a campus lockdown amid a search for the gunman.
