Nurse charged with murder admits to attempting 19 insulin overdoses, say prosecutors.
Nurse Charged with Murder Confesses to Attempting to Kill 19 Patients with Insulin Overdoses, Prosecutors Say
A shocking case has emerged in Pennsylvania, where a nurse is facing charges for allegedly mistreating three patients. However, what makes this story even more disturbing is that the nurse has now admitted to attempting to kill 19 other patients since 2020, according to prosecutors.
Heather Pressdee, who was accused in May of trying to kill three people through insulin overdoses at the care facilities where she worked, now faces new charges. The Pennsylvania Attorney General announced that Pressdee allegedly tried to kill 19 other people at five different care facilities between 2020 and 2023.
The 41-year-old nurse has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of attempted murder, and 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.
The victims ranged in age from 43 to 104, and the alleged incidents occurred during the overnight shift. The criminal complaint against Pressdee revealed that she would take additional measures to try to kill the victims if she sensed they would survive, such as administering a second dose of insulin or using an air embolism.
Attorney General Michelle Henry expressed her shock and disbelief at the nurse’s actions, stating, “It is hard to comprehend how a nurse, trusted to care for her patients, could choose to deliberately and systematically harm them.”

Pressdee’s attorneys are working to prevent her from facing execution, stating that their goal is to avoid the death penalty. The criminal complaint also revealed disturbing messages on Pressdee’s cellphone discussing death and killing.
This horrifying case highlights the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in medical and care facilities. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office is committed to holding Pressdee accountable for her crimes and protecting care-dependent individuals from future harm.
A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:
I walked into the office one morning and noticed something strange. Half of The Western Journal’s readership was missing.
It had finally happened. Facebook had flipped THE switch.
Maybe it was because we wrote about ivermectin. Or election integrity. Or the Jan. 6 detainees. Or ballot mules.
Whatever the reason, I immediately knew what to do. We had to turn to you because, frankly, we know you are the only ones we can trust.
Can you help? Every donation to The Western Journal goes directly to funding our team of story researchers, writers, and editors who doggedly pursue the truth and expose the corrupt elites.
Can I count on you for a small donation? We operate on a shoestring compared to other news media companies, so I can personally promise that not a penny of your donation will be wasted.
We will use every single cent to fight against the lies and corruption in high places. And as long as we have your help, we will never give up.

How can the healthcare system enhance screening processes for potential employees to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable patients?
Heinous crimes and seeks justice for the victims and their families. The trust placed in healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, is paramount, and cases like this erode that trust and undermine the integrity of the healthcare system.
Nurses are entrusted with the care of vulnerable individuals who rely on them for their well-being and recovery. They are expected to provide compassionate and effective care, not to inflict harm on those in their charge. The actions of Heather Pressdee go against the very principles of nursing and raise grave concerns about how such a tragedy could occur within the healthcare system.
The details of the case are deeply disturbing. Pressdee allegedly targeted her victims during the overnight shift, when there may have been fewer staff members and increased vulnerability among patients. In some instances, she reportedly took additional measures to ensure the victims’ demise if she sensed they would survive. This calculated and deliberate approach leaves a chilling impression of a nurse who abused her position of trust for personal gain.
The impact of Pressdee’s alleged crimes cannot be overstated. The victims and their loved ones undoubtedly endure unimaginable pain and suffering as a result of her actions. The trust placed in healthcare professionals has been violated, leaving a lasting scar on those affected and the wider community.
It is essential that rigorous measures and protocols are in place to prevent such horrific incidents from occurring in the future. Medical and care facilities must implement enhanced screening processes for potential employees and maintain strict accountability measures to detect and prevent any misconduct or abusive behavior.
Furthermore, it is crucial for the healthcare system to prioritize the mental health and well-being of its staff, including nurses. Additional resources and support should be made available to healthcare professionals to help them cope with the emotional and psychological challenges inherent in their roles. Regular evaluations, mental health check-ins, and support networks for healthcare workers can contribute to their overall well-being and help prevent instances of burnout or other factors that may contribute to harmful actions.
This case serves as an unfortunate reminder of the vulnerability and trust patients place in healthcare professionals. It is imperative that the justice system takes appropriate action to hold Pressdee accountable for her alleged crimes and that steps are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The safety and well-being of patients must always remain the highest priority, and the healthcare system must work to regain the trust that has been shattered by this devastating case.
