New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has called on Andrew Cuomo to resign after a sixth woman accused the governor of sexual misconduct.

During a press conference Thursday, de Blasio said the allegations against Cuomo are troubling. His remarks comes amid the latest claim in which a female staffer alleged Cuomo groped her in his office last year.

“The specific allegation that the governor called an employee of his, someone who he had power over, he called them to a private place and then sexually assaulted her is absolutely unacceptable,” stated the mayor. “It is disgusting to me and he can no longer serve as governor.”

De Blasio also blasted Cuomo over his alleged cover-up of the nursing home scandal in which thousands of people died amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The mayor joins at least 85 New York state lawmakers who are also calling for Cuomo’s resignation.
