NYC Mayor Demands Trump Supporters “Control Themselves” After Admitting There Are No Specific Threats to Worry About
On Monday, NYC Mayor Eric Adams addressed the press, expressing concern over the arrival of former President Donald Trump and his supporters coming to respond to District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s recent indictment. While the mayor admitted that there were no specific threats to worry about, he still urged for peaceful behavior amongst the rally attendees.
Adams specifically targeted Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who reportedly plans to attend the event, accusing her of promoting “hate speech”. He warned her to be on her “best behavior” during her time in the city.
“Our message is clear and simple: control yourselves. Our city is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger,” said Adams.
Despite being the “safest large city in America,” according to Adams, violent crime has increased in recent months. There were 433 murders in New York City in 2022, slightly down from 488 murders in the previous year but still significantly higher than 2019’s 318 murders. Mayor Adams vowed to maintain law and order during the gathering, adding that violence or vandalism will not be tolerated.
