GOP New York City mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa (R) has spoken out against the recently imposed vaccine mandates in the Big Apple. During a rally in front of City Hall on Thursday, Sliwa blasted Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and Democrats for failing to provide the science when imposing the new requirement.

The Guardian Angels founder mentioned how the new mandate has already caused confusion throughout the city, making things even more challenging for business owners. Sliwa also questioned why Democrats are trying to punish those who choose not to get the vaccine and urged New Yorkers to rise against the imposed mandates.

“We’re on our way to 80 percent. That’s herd immunity and yet there’d always be those who choose not to get the vaccine or can’t get the vaccine, but why should we penalize everybody for that,” stated Sliwa. “So today, we stand in unity against these mandates, against these crackdowns. We are not France, we are not Italy, we are America where we are free, where we have a choice.”

Meanwhile, Sliwa is currently running against Democrat mayoral candidate Eric Adams, who is in favor of the new mandates.
