Manhunt ongoing for NYC subway shooting suspect; one dead, five injured
Multiple People Shot at Bronx Subway Station
The New York City Police Department has reported that a subway station in the Bronx was the scene of a shooting on Monday evening. According to NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry, one person was killed and five others were injured in the incident. As of now, the suspect remains at large.
“We will catch whoever is responsible for this disgusting, senseless act of violence in our community- YOU are now NYPD’s MOST WANTED, and the World’s Greatest Detectives will find you. You WILL be brought to justice,” Daughtry wrote on social media.
The shooting took place at the Mount Eden subway station in the Bronx borough of New York City, just before 4:40 p.m. Eastern. NYPD officials believe that the incident was not random and stemmed from a fight between two groups of teenagers on a northbound 4 train. As the train arrived at the Mount Eden station, panic ensued and shots were fired, hitting multiple victims on the platform, according to NYPD Chief of Transit Michael Kemper.
“The shooting that occurred was an isolated incident,” Daughtry clarified.
The victims of the shooting include four males and two females, ranging in age from 14 to 71 years old. Tragically, a 34-year-old individual who was shot did not survive.
Mayor Eric Adams has been briefed on the incident and it is believed that the attack was not random and does not pose an ongoing threat. Governor Kathy Hochul has directed the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to assist the NYPD in their investigation.
“We’re deeply grateful to the NYPD & other first responders working to address this situation,” Hochul expressed.
What is superposition in quantum mechanics and how does it enable the development of quantum computing?
Quantum mechanics is a branch of physics that explains the behavior of matter and energy at the smallest scales, such as atoms and subatomic particles. It involves the study of phenomena such as wave-particle duality, superposition, and entanglement. Quantum mechanics describes the probabilistic nature of the universe and provides a mathematical framework for understanding and predicting the behavior of quantum systems. It has applications in various fields, including computing, communication, and encryption, and has revolutionized our understanding of the fundamental laws of nature.
