NYPD Officer ‘Fighting For His Life’ After Being Shot In Head
Off-duty New York City Policing According to authorities, the officer is in critical condition following being shot in the head in a robbery attempt on Saturday night.

Police sought the help of the public to find the suspect. Baldassano stated that he fled the scene of the shooting. He encouraged anyone with information about the suspect to call CrimeStoppers on 1-800-577-TIPS.
Baldassano also claimed that the police had “no reason to believe” Although the suspect was aware that the target of the attempted theft was an off-duty officer in the police force, he said that the shooting remains under investigation.
Eric Adams, New York City Democratic Mayor, said that the wounded officer was married and has children. “We will catch the person responsible for this act,” He stated.
