Surfacing reports from law enforcement claim that two officers were recently assaulted by a group of illegal migrants in Times Square.
On Saturday night, two NYPD officers were assaulted while attempting to break up a disorderly crowd outside of a migrant shelter.
The group of men were first told to vacate the front of the Candler Building, located at 220 West 42nd Street, by a police officer and lieutenant. The building has been utilized as a shelter since last March due to overcrowding at homeless shelters.
Reports say that a fight quickly broke out, and a number of men kicked and punched the police officers in the “head and body.” One of the officers even sustained severe cuts to his face and medical personnel assisted in his recovery at the scene.
Four suspects were initially arrested after the incident and have been identified as Darwin Andres Gomez Izquiel 19, Kevin Servat Archoa, 19, Juarez Wilson, 21, and Yorman Reveron, 24.
All four were charged with assault after being taken in, but were later released due to the state’s sanctuary laws.
One of the men, Reveron, had been arrested two separate times before. He was accused of attacking a Nordstrom Rack employee who was attempting to stop him from stealing back in November. He was also charged with “punching a Macy’s employee” who was attempting to stop him and two others during a planned robbery at the Herald Square store last month.
A fifth suspect from the migrant mob incident was later arrested on Monday. He was identified as 22-year-old Jhoan Boada. Boada was initially charged with attempted assault of a police officer, however, he was arraigned and released later on Wednesday.
Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Hendry released a statement after learning of the attack, asserting that officer assaults are becoming an “epidemic.”
“Attacks on police officers are becoming an epidemic, and the reason is a revolving door we’re seeing in cases like this one,” said Hendry. “It is impossible for police officers to deal effectively with crime and disorder if the justice system can’t or won’t protect us while we do that work.”
Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) announced that she is considering deporting the mob of migrant men.
“I think that’s actually something that should be looked at. I mean, if someone commits a crime against a police officer in the state of New York and they’re not here legally, it’s definitely worth checking into,” Hochul said. “It’s wrong on all accounts and I’m looking to judges and prosecutors to do the right thing.”
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website, and on Twitter @NYPDTips.

Title: Assault on NYPD Officers by Group of Illegal Migrants in Times Square Sparks Debate on Deportation
Introduction:
In recent news, reports have emerged regarding a violent incident in Times Square, New York City, where two NYPD officers were assaulted by a group of illegal migrants. The incident has sparked a debate about the deportation of individuals involved in such crimes. This article aims to provide an overview of the incident, the response from law enforcement and politicians, and the implications for immigration policy.
Incident Details:
According to law enforcement sources, the officers were attempting to disperse a disorderly crowd near a migrant shelter in Times Square. The officers were allegedly kicked and punched in the head and body during a fight that ensued. One officer sustained severe facial cuts, requiring medical attention at the scene. Four suspects were initially arrested, but were later released due to the state’s sanctuary laws, which prohibit local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration agents.
Criminal History of Suspects:
One of the suspects, Yorman Reveron, had previously been arrested on two separate occasions for assaulting retail employees. He was accused of attacking a Nordstrom Rack employee in November and punching a Macy’s employee during a planned robbery at the Herald Square store the following month. This raises concerns about the revolving door of criminal justice and the potential risks associated with releasing individuals with a history of violence.
Police Response and Public Outrage:
Upon learning of the incident, Police Benevolent Association president Patrick Hendry described attacks on police officers as an “epidemic.” He expressed frustration with the justice system’s failure to adequately protect officers and hold offenders accountable. The assault has reignited public outrage and calls for stricter immigration policies.
Political Response:
New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that she is considering deporting the individuals involved in the assault, emphasizing the importance of protecting law enforcement officers. She asserted that if someone commits a crime against a police officer while being in the state illegally, deportation should be considered. Hochul’s stance reflects a growing sentiment among politicians and the public to prioritize public safety and hold criminals accountable, regardless of their immigration status.
Debate on Deportation:
The assault in Times Square has initiated a broader discussion on the deportation of individuals who commit crimes while being in the country illegally. Critics argue that deportation may discourage criminals from reoffending and protect the community. However, opponents argue that due process should be followed, and each case should be evaluated individually, taking into account the severity of the crime and the potential risks posed by the offenders.
Conclusion:
The assault on NYPD officers by a group of illegal migrants in Times Square has highlighted the issue of ensuring the safety of law enforcement officials while addressing immigration concerns. The incident has prompted discussions on the deportation of individuals involved in criminal activities and the need to strike a balance between public safety and fair immigration policies. As the debate continues, it is essential to find comprehensive solutions that maintain law and order while respecting fundamental rights and due process.
