Later on, Obama entered a relationship with Sheila Miyoshi Jager, a white woman. Garrow’s biography revealed that Obama proposed to Jager twice, but she rejected him both times. Despite meeting Michelle, Obama’s infatuation with Jager persisted. However, he eventually ended the relationship and married Michelle, believing that identifying as African American was necessary for his political ambitions.
Furthermore, the Daily Mail reported that Obama had considered pursuing a gay relationship while in college with his assistant professor, Lawrence Goldyn. Obama spoke highly of Goldyn, who was openly gay, and credited him as one of the influences on his understanding of LGBT issues.
