Ohio Pro-Life Org Fires Comms Director Over Viral Christian Social Media Debate
Ohio Right to Life Fires Communications Director Following Viral Exchange with Congressman
Ohio Right to Life has made the decision to terminate Elizabeth Marbach, the organization’s communications director, after a highly publicized interaction with Congressman Max Miller (R-OH), according to The Sentinel.
On Tuesday, Marbach took to X to express her belief in the importance of faith in Jesus Christ. Her post caught the attention of Congressman Miller, who reposted her message, accusing her of bigotry and demanding its deletion.
This is one of the most bigoted tweets I have ever seen.
Delete it, Lizzie.
Religious freedom in the United States applies to every religion.
You have gone too far. https://t.co/QCx8oAT1Kr

Marbach responded by reposting Miller’s tweet, asserting that she was quoting the words of Jesus himself and sharing scripture.
Sorry, Congressman, but these are the words of Jesus himself.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
No one has hope outside of Jesus Christ and every knee will bow one day declaring that Jesus Chris is Lord. https://t.co/23txJgEZMa

After facing backlash and engaging in further discussion, Congressman Miller issued an apology, expressing regret for the unintended message conveyed in his initial tweet.
It is worth noting that Miller’s wife, Emily Moreno Miller, holds a position as a Member Trustee at Ohio Right to Life. According to The Sentinel, Marbach was given the option to resign or receive a transition period but declined both offers.

The decision to terminate Marbach was not solely based on her interaction with Congressman Miller. The Sentinel reports that a previous post on X, in which Marbach referred to abortion activist Rachel Coyle as a “murderous liar,” also raised concerns among senior Ohio Right to Life staff.
Ohio Right to Life CEO Peter Range released a statement on X regarding Marbach’s departure, emphasizing that the decision was not influenced by a single event and expressing gratitude for Marbach’s service.
Marbach, in an interview with The Sentinel, expressed her hope that Ohio Right to Life remains focused on their mission to end abortion and does not allow politics to distract them.
