One in five Americans supports a ‘national divorce’: Poll

RA little over 66million people, or about 20% of American citizens, believe that a “national divorce” According to a poll, this would be a good idea for our country.

According to the latest poll, 25% of Republicans voted for a national divorce. This compares with 20% of independents and 16% among Democrats. However, 19% of independents responded positively to the question about whether they would support their country seceding.

“Americans’ deep political fault lines are clear and engrained in our psyche and politics,” Cliff Young, president and CEO of Ipsos U.S. Public Affairs who conducted the poll, said Axios. “Talk of national divorce or secession leaves us with a divided nation with little hope of reconciliation.”

The survey found that men and those who earn less than $50,000 a yearly, as well as residents in the South, were more likely to support the separation.

Discussion around a “national divorce” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-GA, ignited the fire by stating that there should be a “divorce” The federal government would be shrinking if it was split between red and blue states. Greene clarified that she wasn’t calling for a “civil war” However, she was concerned about the country’s future.

“People are absolutely fed up and disgusted with left-wing insanity and disaster America Last policies. National divorce is not civil war, but Biden and the neocons are leading us into WW3 while forcing corporate ESG and gender confusion on our kids,” Greene made the statement in a tweet last month.

A poll also asked respondents whether they were optimistic about America’s democracy. Only 37% of those polled said yes. 60% of respondents said that the country should come together to overcome the division and end hyperpolarization. This was significantly more than the 10% who suggested people should just let it be, and the 30% who claimed that they didn’t know how to fix problems.

Although the split is supported by a large number of people, there is no clear consensus among states for its adoption. Therefore, the results are unlikely to lead to any real separation.
