One matter uniting Trump and DeSantis but dividing the party

LThe establishment Republicans have started to take aim at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), as a partywide dispute erupts about who is the best alternative 2024 presidential candidate to the former President Donald Trump.

Since his election as the leading Trump alternative, DeSantis has been largely ignored by fellow Republicans. The party’s right-leaning star is growing, and the Florida governor is facing criticism from the establishment 2024 hopefuls over his position on a key foreign policy issue: the war in Ukraine.

“The Bible says if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will know to get ready for battle,” Pence stated to the outlet that DeSantis was referring to Ukraine. “To me, it’s a function of leadership.”
