Only one-quarter of Democrats want Biden to run in 2024: Poll
Just 25% of Democrats want President Joe Biden to run for reelection next year, according to a new poll from Monmouth University released Monday.
Only 25 % of the 542 Democratic respondents who participated in the poll, which was conducted from March 16 to March 20, said they wanted Biden to run for reelection next year, while 44 % said he should step down and allow another Democrat to seek the presidency in 2024. About 30 % of the other respondents said they had no choice.

Vice President Kamala Harris was the front-runner to unseat Biden among the 44 % who wanted someone else to run for the Democratic nomination, winning 13 % of the vote. 6 % of the vote went to Senator Bernie Sanders( I-VT ) and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Sen. Elizabeth Warren( D-MA ) received 4 % of the vote, and 3 % of voters chose Gov. Gavin Newsom( D-CA )
74 % of respondents said they had a positive opinion of the current president, while only 14 % expressed an unfavorable opinion.
Subjects were also asked to contrast Biden with their preferred Democratic primary nominee for 2020. 44 % of respondents said they thought their candidate would have performed better. However, 46 % predicted that they would follow the current president’s lead. Only 9 % of respondents thought their candidate would have performed worse.

The crown is conducted as the 2024 election gets underway. Biden hasn’t already declared his intention to run for reelection, but he is anticipated to do so quickly. Just previous governor and former president Donald Trump were on the Democratic side. Nikki Haley( R-SC ) and Vivek Ramaswamy, a tech entrepreneur, have so far announced their bids for the Republican ticket.
The poll had a 6.3 amount point margin of error.
