Opt Out Of Mother’s Day: New Corporate Trend ‘Reeks Of Anti-Family’ Activism, Critics Say

Big corporations are offering customers the chance to “opt out” of Mother’s Day-related communications, and it’s causing a stir. A viral Twitter thread posted by Arizona Informer has highlighted the trend, with more than a dozen screenshots from businesses offering the opt-out option. The thread notes the similar language used in the emails and equates the trend with anti-family activism. “Something very strange is happening with Big Corporations,” Arizona Informer captioned the thread. “Out of nowhere, Kroger-owned Fry’s Food Store, Kay Jewelers, Hallmark, and now DoorDash have all sent ‘Opt out of Mother’s Day’ emails to their customer base.” The Twitter thread has been viewed more than 1 million times since Sunday.
