Ousted Tennessee State Rep. Justin Jones Reappointed To Seat By Nashville City Council
One of the two Tennessee State Representatives who was fired for taking part in the smashing of Tennessee’s’s State House has been given a new term in office.
By a majority vote of the Nashville Metropolitan Council, State Representative Justin Jones( D-Nahio) was re-appointed to his position. The Nashville Metro Council, according to CNN, voted to halt a procedural rule that forbids someone from being nominated and appointed to the chair in the same conference.
The Council again unanimously decided to re-appoint Jones to the chair, 36 to 0.
According to local news source WTVF, Nashville Mayor John Cooper said during the meeting that” this vote was unparalleled.” Let’s’s give the neighborhood their voice once more. I call this individual right away to give them their message back.
Until a unique vote, Jones may act as the 52nd congressional district’s’s time representative. According to The Tennessean, Jones is qualified for re-election.
Jones was kicked out of the State House last week for violating politeness rules, along with other Democratic Rep. Justin J. Pearson. Jones entered the room during the congressional session and led pro-gun reform protesters in chants inside. Jones, in distinctive, shouted slogans through a bullhorn despite not being acknowledged as speaking. Jones was defeated by the Republican supermajority in the State House by a ballot of 72 to 25.
