John Fetterman is the frontrunner in the Democrat race for Senate in Pennsylvania. He faces a contentious slate of GOP candidates. He remains hospitalized at the time of publication.
Lt. Governor John Fetterman, Democrat candidate for US Senate in Pennsylvania, suffered a stroke on Friday and was rushed to the hospital, where he has remained through the weekend. He has said that despite the stroke, he will be staying in the Senate race. He remains hospitalized at the time of publication.
Fetterman posted to Twitter, alerting constituents as to his condition. He reported that he wasn’t feeling well, and was content to ignore it, but that his wife Gisele insisted that he get checked out.
He shared a video update of himself and his wife, noting that she was the one with the good sense to make his health a priority on Friday.
His statement reads that he “didn’t want to go” to the hospital, but that he was glad he did so, as it resulted in the revelation that he had a blood clot in his heart that caused the stroke after it was “beating in an A-fib rhythm for too long.”
The doctors were able to reverse the stroke.
Fetterman is the frontrunner in the Democrat race for Senate in Pennsylvania. He faces a contentious slate of GOP candidates, from Dr. Mehmet Oz, who has been supported by Trump, to Kathy Barnette, an upstart candidate who has captured the hearts of many on the GOP side for her direct and forthright style.
