Pamela Anderson Defies Hollywood by Doubling Down on Anti-#Metoo Comments
Pamela Anderson was in hot water five year ago when she spoke out against #MeToo right at its peak.
Anderson refused to discuss her past comments about the #MeToo Movement in a new interview and instead said that Hollywood could accept her remarks. “a step further.”
“Feminism can go too far. I’m a feminist, but I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyses men. I think this MeToo movement is a bit too much for me.”

Anderson doubles down on #MeToo Past Comments
In a November 2017, InterviewMegyn Kelly questioned Anderson about #MeToo, which was turning Hollywood upside-down at the time. Anderson replied that the former had not. “Baywatch” star wasn’t having any of it.
“You know what you’re getting into if you go to a hotel room alone,” She said.

Ronan Farrow was the journalist who created the #MeToo movement through his attack on Harvey Weinstein. Anderson was asked about her past comments by Anderson on Wednesday. Anderson wanted to know if this was something she regrets. “a healthy thought to introduce into the dialogue at that point.”
“I could even take it a step further,” Anderson, 55 years old, fired back after Farrow interviewed Anderson for an interview. Interview Magazine profile.
“My mother would tell me — and I think this is the kind of feminism I grew up with — it takes two to tango,” Anderson elaborated, stating that Anderson’s mother taught her this. “‘If someone answers the door in a hotel robe and you’re going for an interview, don’t go in. But if you do go in, get the job.’”
Anderson later stated that Anderson was correct. “a horrible thing to say,” She also said that she “just had this sense of value and self-worth.”
“But I think a lot of people don’t have that or they weren’t taught that,” She went on. “Thank God for the #MeToo movement because things have changed and people are much more careful and respectful.”

Anderson’s Past Comments
Anderson stressed the importance for women to take responsibility for their actions in her interview with Kelly in 2017. Though she didn’t defend Hollywood predators like Weinstein, Anderson also said that she “learned to never put myself in those situations again.”
“When I came to Hollywood, of course I had a lot of offers to do private auditions and things that made absolutely no sense,” She elaborated. “[It’s] just common sense: Don’t go into a hotel room alone. If someone answers the door in a bathrobe, you know, leave.”
Anderson revealed then that it was “common knowledge” To avoid “certain people” Hollywood.
“You know what you’re getting into if you go to a hotel room alone,” she said, with Kelly warning that on many occasions, it was the actresses’ agents who were setting up their meetings.
“I’d go with them! Send somebody with them. That’s what they should’ve done,” Anderson replied. “I just think there’s easy ways to remedy that. That’s not a good excuse.”

Anderson Stood Her Ground
The #MeToo movement brought out many good things, even though there were many male Hollywood predators. Anderson is to be commended for her reminder that women should not put themselves in danger.
Anderson would have had no problem discrediting her past statements in her most recent interview, just to make it easier for her to be rebuffed “woke” Hollywood but she was determined to stand by her beliefs.
Anderson’s recent actions may not be what we agree with, but it is good for Anderson to stand her ground.
