In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, his family expressed their grief and admiration for Reubens’ talent and resilience. They revealed that he had been fighting cancer for years, showing incredible bravery and wit throughout his journey.

Reubens began his career in the 1970s as part of the renowned Los Angeles-based improvisational comedy team, The Groundlings. It was during one of his improvisational performances that the character of Pee-wee Herman was born. Reubens also appeared in various films, including the cult classic Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
