Pennsylvania fugitive: Armed killer sighted in different location
Authorities Provide Update on Manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante
Authorities have provided an early Tuesday morning update on the ongoing manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who continues to evade law enforcement. The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) posted on social media, urging residents in the area of Ridge Rd/Coventryville Rd/Daisy Point Rd in South Coventry Twp., Chester Co to remain vigilant.
“He is armed. Residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows, secure vehicles, and remain indoors. Do not approach. Call 911 if seen.”
Convicted Murderer Evades Recapture
Cavalcante, who was convicted of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Deborah Brandao to death in 2021, has managed to avoid recapture for nearly two weeks. He has skillfully broken through perimeters and altered his appearance to evade capture.
Hailing from Brazil, Cavalcante allegedly killed Brandao to prevent her from informing the police that he is wanted in his home country for another murder.
Authorities Under Scrutiny
The guard responsible for Cavalcante’s escape has faced criticism and has since been fired. Additionally, authorities in Pennsylvania have come under scrutiny for their failure to recapture the escaped convict, despite having knowledge of his location.
Despite the ongoing efforts, Cavalcante remains at large, posing a significant threat to the community. The fact that he is now armed has heightened concerns about the potential danger he presents. State police have been authorized to use deadly force if necessary.
It is important for residents to stay informed, follow the provided safety instructions, and report any sightings of Cavalcante to the authorities immediately.
