Pennsylvania Officials Give Conflicting Updates On Chocolate Factory Explosion That Left At Least Two Dead

On Saturday, authorities provided conflicting information regarding the West Reading, Pennsylvania, chocolate shop blast, which left at least two useless and more missing.

According to West Reading Mayor Samantha Kaag, the widely reported death toll was” inaccurate ,” according to local public radio station WITF – FM, despite the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency reporting that it had increased to five with six people still missing.

West Reading was rocked by the blast at the R. M. Palmer Co. place, and it is still unknown what caused it. Ruth A. Miller, director of communications for Pennsylvania Emergency Management, reports that seven additional men were hospitalized as a result of the blast.

On Friday night, the Reading Hospital announced that it had released five more patients, admitted two of the explosion’s injured patients in” fair condition ,” and transferred one patient.

Dean Murray, the parish coach for West Reading, said,” Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone needed.” The manufacturer, according to Murray, is a” mainstay of the town.”

According to Wayne Holben, chief of police, the blast damaged at least one creating and destroyed another. He has advised people to avoid the area.

Weather cameras recorded the blast, which occurred at around 5 p.m. on Friday, on video.
