Pentagon diversity officer won’t face discipline for anti-white tweets, top official says
The Pentagon does not have plans to discipline an employee who was the Department of Defense’s chief officer of diversity, equity, and inclusion for their anti-white tweets that have come under fire from Republican lawmakers, according to a top DOD official.
Gilbert Cisneros Jr., the undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness in the Biden administration, wrote in a letter to House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik( R-NY ) on Tuesday that Kelisa Wing, an employee who has been linked to tweets disparaging of white people, had been transferred to another position. Cisneros, who was grilled by Republicans on Thursday during a House Armed Services Committee, added that Wing has not been disciplined despite the DOD’s conviction that the individual was” speaking in the particular strength.”
CHIEF OF PENTAGON’S EDUCATION ‘ DIVERSITY’ SHOULD BE DISQUALIFY BY Toxic RACIAL TWEETS
Cisneros stated in the listening,” I do believe that that is not acceptable.” It’s not something I did support, and neither the Department of Defense nor the Defense Education Activity support it.
In December 2021, Wing, a previous elementary school teacher in Georgia and New York, was chosen for the variety position. Fox News reported on several anti-white posts she had previously posted in December 2022, prompting the individual to make her account private.
Wing wrote in June 2020,” I’m exhausted with these white folx in these ] professional development” sessions. His lady really had the audacity to assert that black people can also be racist. I had to adjourn the meeting and hand Karen the matter at hand. We don’t have power because we are not the lot.
She continued,” Eing antiracist means being active against racism … you will NEVER arrive … stop focusing this on whiteness.”
Wing asked for a” break from white nonsense” and stated in another tweet that she was” exhausted by 99 % of the white men in education and 95 % of white women.” Additionally, she once asserted that” racism is ingrained in the very fabric of our country” and referred to anyone who refuted the claim as” Karen ,” a term typically used to describe an entitled white woman.
During the Thursday reading, Republicans targeted Wing and pressed Cisneros to respond to the tweets. Stefanik accused the established of taking a long time to act and made him read several of the messages loudly.
According to a letter, Stefanik and 21 some Republican congressmen demanded responses from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin regarding the posts in September 2022.
The legislators wrote,” For these reasons, we are worried that Ms. Wing’s language is truly in line with the values and standards of the DOD.” We also have our doubts about DODEA Director Thomas Brady’s view. Kelisa Wing is exactly the right person to lead our efforts in building on the fundamental work done to support significant change in our company, according to Director Brady, which either demonstrates poor judgment or deliberate knowledge.
Brady praised Wing as” exactly the right girl” to” link” variety into the DODEA, a national school system that directs and coordinates education programming for children of defense families, when she announced her role in 2021. Records indicate that the system had a$ 3 billion budget for the fiscal year 2021.
According to public records and a March 2 state by the federal spending watchdog organization OpenTheBooks, DODEA schools have seen an increase of 1, 250 % in the use of left-leaning literature since expression of Wing’s contentious posts spread. Stefanik criticizes Wing for trying to pass a bill that, according to her legislative office, purports to require parents of DOD-run schools” had the right to become involved in their children’s education” by allowing guardians to review curricula.

Just three years prior to the reading, according to Stefanik, did she receive Cisneros’ letter from Tuesday.
” You responded three hours prior to this hearing today, six months after that initial inquiry, which is a trend for Biden administration officials at the last minute scrambling before these hearings ,” the congresswoman said.
